The Valencia Flyers and Idaho Jr. Steelheads made a two-player swap on Saturday night, as the Flyers sent center Stephen Stoll to Idaho and in return picked up left winger Luke Hayes.
The Idaho Jr. Steelheads happily welcomed the former Flyers’ center at a perfect time in their season. Not only is Idaho poised to make a long run in the post-season but they also picked up a red-hot Stoll, who has points in 12 of his last 13 games. The addition of Stoll, the 20 year-old native of Burbank, California, should do nothing but bolster an already potent attack and power-play of one of the league’s top teams. The 6’0 185 pound Stoll has played in 39 games this season, scoring 12 goals and 18 assists. Stephen is excited for a new opportunity and will surely fit in up in Boise. It will surely be a great experience playing for a team that has a great chance to make it to the National Championships in Marlborough Mass. in March.
Coming back in the deal to the Flyers is Mission Viejo, California native Luke Hayes. Hayes is also a 20 year-old forward and has also notched 30 points on the season, with 8 goals and 22 assists. The 5’11 180 pound left winger will bring speed and grit to the Flyers as they try to squeak into the playoff picture.
Both players are expected to make their respective debuts with their new clubs tomorrow morning in Boise.
